We have designed and developed the new websites of Westcoast with a focus on optimizing the user experience and seamless design.
Westcoast is a fish export company based in Bergen with production from Lofoten. They offer high quality and sustainable seafood to the global market. Westcoast contacted us with a desire to revamp their website, while also wanting to improve functionality and brand identity. The company was established in 1993 by Bjarte Flem and Skude Fryseri.
We are very impressed with Link Development's professionalism and customer service. They were comfortable to work with and communication was quick. Link Development brought our vision to life on our new website, and it exceeded all expectations. We will recommend Link Development to all our partners and customers.
Our approach to the development of the website has been driven by the purpose of providing visitors with a seamless navigation and access to relevant information. We have implemented user-friendly features to improve accessibility and provided a responsive design, ensuring optimal viewing on various devices.
Design
We have adopted Westcoast's colors on the website in a discreet way, combined with a white background for a more minimalist and stylish design. We used the fish icons from Westcoast's logo on the website to increase the recognition and identity of the company. The fish icons serve as a method of communication and link Westcoast even more to the seafood industry. This also creates a more holistic visual experience for website visitors. In the footer we have added a curved shape to recreate a wave, to create a more harmony with the theme of the website.
Animations and navigation
On Westcoast's new website, there was a desire for the website to feel more vibrant. This was taken care of by implementing subtle animations in, for example, the header (dragging the mouse pointer over for a drop effect), in the footer (a wave that follows the movement of the mouse) and by bubbles in the fish.
Navigation was also simplified by cutting out multiple subpages and directly leading the user to what they are looking for. We also developed a separate filtering function for the products offered by Westcoast, so visitors can easily find out information about the different fish species.
SEO
In addition to the visual aspect, we have also focused on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to increase the visibility and accessibility of WestCoast online. The new website thus represents not only an aesthetic upgrade, but also a strategic approach to strengthen the presence and interaction with the target audience.
