We have developed a new digital concept for Norsk Gjenvinning with a focus on user engagement and visibility.

Norsk Gjenvinning contacted us because they wanted increased visibility and presence during Bergenfest 2024, where they are the main provider for waste sorting at the festival. We developed a new concept for them where users could learn about waste sorting, see where their nearest recycling station was located at the festival, and correctly answer a quiz to win free tickets to next year's festival. The service received over 3000 visitors, and 1000 correct answers on the waste management quiz with only organic marketing.

A request to Link Utvikling on how we could achieve both increased visibility and presence for our company at this year's Bergenfest marked the beginning of an incredibly fun and educational process. It all resulted in a mobile-friendly website designed to guide festival-goers in waste management and recycling. Visitor numbers exceeded all expectations, and we received positive feedback from users. It was incredibly fun to experience the engagement and creativity of the team at Link Utvikling.

Our approach to developing the concept has been driven by the purpose of providing visitors with seamless navigation and access to relevant information. We have implemented user-friendly features to enhance the accessibility of information and ensured a responsive design, which guarantees optimal display on various mobile devices.

Design

Norsk Gjenvinning has chosen bright orange as their primary color. This color is highly visible and quickly grabs attention, making it a natural choice for creating an impression in technology and on social media. We have actively used orange in the sharing of content on our social channels to highlight the key elements of the service. In the technology, several elements were also orange, such as the markers on the map showing the location of the recycling stations, the start button for the quiz, and backgrounds that contribute to increased brand awareness. Orange has thus been central in making our message clear and engaging. We complemented the orange color with a milder shade of the primary color, as well as gray and white, to create a pleasant profile for the user.

The Concept

The client wanted increased visibility during the Bergenfest festival in 2024. We therefore developed an engaging platform where users could easily learn about waste management and make conscious choices regarding handling their own waste during the festival. To engage users further, we developed a quiz with 5 questions. The answers to these questions could be found by reading about waste management within the service. If users answered the quiz correctly, they would be entered into a drawing for free tickets to next year’s festival, and if they answered incorrectly, they could try again.

The technology included a map of the area with markers showing both the user's location and the recycling stations, a quiz with 5 questions, and an information page with various details about waste management and the service.
