We are developing the One Ocean Week app for the biggest business week in Western Norway in April.
The purpose behind the application is to better the experience of One Ocean Week and create closer connection with the public. Such an event app provides attendees with a convenient platform for easy overview, access to up-to-date information, and the opportunity to organize the events they themselves wish to attend. It facilitates communication between organizers and participants, provides increased engagement through notifications and interactive features, and with the purpose of creating a seamless experience.

Blue is often associated with professionalism and confidence. As the app represents an organisation committed to ocean sustainability and conservation, we wanted the use of the blue colours to reflect this. The brand manual of Havbyen bergen gave guidelines to the use of the colors, and we extended this to maintain consistency and recognizability.
The application allows users to get a full overview of all the events that will be during One Ocean Week. These are sorted by date and time, and can be filtered by category. From the home page, you can tap into each event for more information or save the event under “My OOW”. Under “My OOW” you will find an overview of events you wish to attend and have saved. Inside each event you will find information about what is happening, where it is happening and when it is happening. The address is clickable and will forward you to a map for navigation. Links that are in the text will be clickable and transfer you to a new tab. Under “Latest News” you will find current events from the organizer. The articles are sorted by date published and by pressing a case you will be taken on to it in the application. You can also sign up for the newsletter from this page.
Calendar
The events calendar provides an overview of all the events during One Ocean Week, simple and clear. The events are sorted by date and time, and can be filtered based on category in the top right. All events have category, title and address easily accessible from the home page. From the home page, you can save events you want to have under “My OneOceanWeek”.
Event
From the start page, you can tap into the desired event. Inside the event you will find information about what is happening, where it is happening and when it is happening. The address is clickable and will forward you to a map for navigation. Links that are in the text will be clickable and transfer you to a new tab.
My One Ocean Week
On “My OOW” you will find an overview of events you want to attend and have saved. To save an event, tap the small box in the upper right corner of the event from the home page. The list of events is sorted by date and time, and can be filtered based on category.
Latest News
Under “Latest News” you will find current events from the organizer. The articles are sorted by date published, and by pressing a case you will be taken on to it in the application. You can also sign up for the newsletter from this page.
