One of Norway's top 50 women in tech

Our CTO Michelle Sæther has been named one of Norway's top 50 women in technology.

Michelle Sather

The ODA network - the Nordic region's leading network for diversity in tech, and Abelia - the NHO association for knowledge and technology companies, are behind the award. Since 2017, they have named Norway's 50 top tech women whose purpose is to highlight talents and good role models, and help inspire more women to choose technology and management as a career path.

Link Development is proud to announce that our very own Michelle Sæther has been named one of Norway's foremost tech-women! Having been hand-picked by a jury in a nomination process with over 700 nominees, our own technical manager is among those at the top. This is incredibly exciting.

We had a little chat with Michelle when the news came out:

How does it feel to be named one of Norway's top women in tech?

To be named one of Norway's foremost women in tech is certainly an honour and a recognition I greatly appreciate. It feels incredibly inspiring to be on a list among such talented and accomplished women. This recognition is not just for me, but it represents all the hardworking women in the tech industry who are passionate about the subject and striving to make a difference. It's a sign that the work we do is seen and appreciated and it motivates me to keep going.

Can you tell us a little about why it is important for you to take part in work that promotes gender equality in the field?

With a background in technology, I have seen the impact diversity has on innovation and problem-solving. Diversified teams bring diverse perspectives, experiences and ideas, which is essential for creating groundbreaking solutions that serve the entire community. Equality in tech isn't just a matter of fairness; it's also a matter of efficiency and of harnessing the full potential of our collective intelligence. By working to include more women in technology and leadership, we are helping to build a more innovative, equitable and sustainable future. We still have a way to go to achieve this - I saw the undernumber of women already when I was studying - which has also been reflected in the proportion of women in the tech industry. It is important that we continue our efforts to highlight role models so that we can inspire more people to take the plunge into this exciting industry. This award helps to do exactly that - it showcases the breadth of expertise that we women have brought into the industry.

I would also like to thank both Abelia and the ODA Network for this notation, and for the work they do.

Congratulations again, and not least to the other 49 nominees!
